• A group of heterosporous vascular cryptogamous plants, by some called an order, by others raised to the rank of a class coördinate with the Rhizocarpeæ, Lycopodiaceæ, Filices, etc. It embraces only 2 genera, Selaginella and Isoëtes (which see for characterization).
