  • noun An order of polypetalous trees, of the cohort Geraniales in the series Discifloræ, closely allied to the order Rutaceæ from which it is distinguished by the usual presence of alternate leaves without glands, stamens each augmented by one or more scales, and but a single ovule in each ovary-cell.
