  • A tribe of plants, of the order Bignoniaceæ, characterized by usually shrubby or climbing or arboreous habit, absence of tendrils, commonly simple leaves, and a completely two-celled ovary, which becomes in fruit a loculicidal capsule with its two valves flattened contrary to the partition and usually deciduous.
