No pretext of separation of church and state in the Republic of Ireland of the 1960's. EVery day at noon and at 6pm, radio broadcast the bells of the angelus for a full minute. After the introduction of television, the TV time slot from 6:00 to 6:01 pm was also dedicated to the ringing of the Angelus.
