  • A family of sessile thoracic Cirripedia, characterized by the absence of a peduncle and the lack of symmetry of the shell, the scuta and terga being deprived of depressor muscles, movable on one side only, on the other united with the rostrum and carina. Verruca is the only genus, with few recent species, but others are found fossil down to the Chalk formation.
