You just need to make sure that you export any movie containing 1080i60 footage in 1080i60 AIC format, then use an external application like JES Deinterlacer or MPEG Streamclip to do the final encoding.

But if you want it for some reason, you may need to run the footage through the Inverse Telecine project in DES Deinterlacer to get 'true' 24p footage out, which iMovie can then process correctly (FSVO "correctly", in view of the comments in this thread!).
