Although about 10 years ago an F-3 tornado took out a neighborhood about 15 miles from me, and I think I heard it pass by overhead.

Even here in AZ not that far from Death Valley, I have seen several in Phoenix, and in 1972 an F-3 touched down near central Phoenix.

This certainly looks to be the very least an F-2, likely an F-3 or higher.
