All professors/instructors should have to occasionally teach undergraduate sequence courses (which would be good for them anyway: Nobel prize winner Richard Feynmann liked to teach freshman physics, because the very basic questions he got from freshmen got him thinking in new directions.)
-
Despite the misinterpreters, the universe is not a less mechanical place after Heisenberg, Bohr, Dirac, and Feynmann than it was before.

For example, he could deflect incoming projectiles by transforming himself into a Feynmann diagram.

I was at Caltech (1969-1971) when Feynmann was teaching and the “cult” has grown significantly since then in part by his popular books on the subject and his participation on the congressional committee investigating the O-rings. (and not due to any significant scientifc discovery) I also got to see a lecture by Hawking in Chicago in 1999 and think the “rock star” analogy is highly appropriate.

Thinking about all three of Einstein, Hawking and Feynmann it is clear that all of them work very hard indeed.

Well, I kept thinking that surely, this had to make contact with this other way we know from string theory of doing manifestly (non-Feynmann diagrammtic) computations in SU (N) gauge theory, the AdS/CFT correspondence.

Feynmann says that a scientist should show his argument and then disclose everything.

Mann is a perfect example who has faught the correction of his statistical flaws tooth and nail in a very un-Feynmann manner. fFreddy
