We are already fully aware that there's a Cardiff-Westminster divide within the Welsh Labour party, and that Hain is against the Labour-Plaid coalition.

Why I haven't commented... 2008

As to the latter, the existence of the Progressive Policies Forum and how it was apparently used for making donations to Hain from politically unattractive sources; and his habit of endorsing businesses that later made donations to him; and the saving of Remploy jobs contemporaneously with donations by the union involved with Remploy provide more a more than adequate basis for suggesting that Hain is a sleazebag.

I agree with the latter interpretation, but Hain is right to say that Wales is leaving Welsh Labour behind, and that the Party has to adapt itself to the reality of 21st Century Wales.

Personally I think the underlying message in Hain's remarks to Adrian Masters yesterday is one that rings true, and to some degree is coherent with those voiced by Normal Mouth in his Golwg column.
