I'm suggesting staying in Harlingen because just south of Harlingen is the Free Trade Bridge (Los Indios) which is about the easiest crossover point for papers and documentation in Texas.

Overnight in Harlingen, leave Harlingen about 7: 00AM drive south on 77-83 toward San Benito, just as you leave Harlingen (the last exit is Ed Carey Drive -- Airport exit) and continuing, the next exit Paso Real is for the International Free Trade Bridge at Los Indios.

However, since you are coming from Corpus Christi I would suggest the alternate route of US 77 south to Harlingen, Overnight in Harlingen, Leave at 7: 00 AM and on Higway 77-83 just south of ED CAREY (Airport) at the next exit right to El Paso Real you will see a small FREE TRADE INTERNATIONAL BRIDGE.

If you stay in Harlingen and leave there at 7: 00 AM crossing the frontier about 20 to 30 minutes later you would be in San Luis Potosí, as I stated earlier about 4: 30 to 5 PM with a half hour to 45 minute lunch stop in Cd. Victoria.
