Unfortunately we didn't see any great strides from him when he was an Oiler so I question how he could become a solid shutdown defender with the Kings if he couldn't do it as an Oiler when the Oilers have a great history of finding defensemen who can work their way up the depth chart such as Hejda, Grebeshkov, Gilbert, Staios, and maybe Strudwick this year.
