On a separate note, I get your slippery slope argument regarding regulations leading to bans on weapons for self-defense, but it is wrong that the Times Square terrorist had a Kel-Tec Sub Rifle 2000 (my understanding is that Shahzad was not previously on any watchlists, so there is a separate issue as to why such weapons need to be sold – they clearly extend beyond self-defense).
