He said that's interesting because MQTT is a much more lightweight protocol, designed for small sensors and low bandwidth / expensive (e.g. cellular) networks … and it's also true push .. i.e. data is pushed to you directly from the broker (the hub in the middle), rather than you having to ask for it constantly (polling).
