Apparently Thawte, the company that secures the SSL certificate, had no intention of sending a fax, so they were very confused when I emailed asking why the fax hadn't been sent.

Thawte will hopefully call the school on Monday to speak with the network manager.

Thawte issued the SSL certificate, so we have a secure network and teachers can begin to access the database again.

I exchanged many emails with (1) secretaries trying to track down the "missing" fax, (2) Computer Logic, and (3) Thawte before we finally sorted out that no fax was sent.

My guess is that the Asian branch of Thawte that has been trying to contact us, does things differently because they are dealing with data across international borders.
