The warm synth-pads, the squirty, farty bassline that bounces along with the beat, they are pure Köhncke - if anything the track reminds me a bit of his monstrous single from 2004 "Timecode" which also appeared on his 2005 full-length, Doppelleben.

Justus Köhncke is one of Kompakt records stable of long-standing artists who, over the past five or so years, has consistently put out great music - he has two full-length albums, 2002's Was Ist Musik and 2005's Doppelleben, and seven (yes, seven!) twelve-inches, including the stunning 2 after 909 (that Erlend Øye included in his contribution to K7's DJ Kicks series), and my personal favorite of his, "Timecode" on the Zwei Photonen EP.

To me it's like calling "Timecode" a great film because it has a gimmicky approach to filmmaking.
