The paper of Zerhouni et al JOURNAL OF VIROLOGY, Feb. 2004, p. 1243-1255 explains in more detail how all this is done and looking at their results, I would say that the 6 points mentioned in the VirusMyth Award website are pretty much met, except that nowadays there are other faster and more reliable techniques to isolate viruses other than ultracentrifugation.
