I was talking to a company called Vanillaware in Japan; they make a game called

When you look at the games Marvelous does -- Harvest Moon, the upcoming Vanillaware gem Muramasa, and yes, my longed-for Little King's Story, you'd think they had the ideal recipe: family-friendly, universally-appealing themes with enough depth and gameplay sophistication to attract and sustain core players (Nintendo's own Pokemon is such a megafranchise thanks to similar traits).
