MUMBAI - Dubai-based Varkey Group has offered to buy up to 20% more of India's Everonn Education Ltd. at 528 rupees a share, the offer's manager said Friday.

Everonn shares rose as much as 5% to 367.15 rupees following the news, as the Chennai-based provider of technology-based education services to schools said it plans to issue shares to the Varkey Group at 528 rupees each, a 51% premium over its Monday close.

It also said the preferential allotment to Varkey Group has triggered an open offer to be made to the public shareholders of the company as per the Securities and Exchange Board of India's rules.
