The most recent batch of papers from Holland and Webster 2007 and Mann et al. 2007 and the ship track papers of Chang and Guo (2007) and Knutson and Vecchi (2008) seem to build upon a house of cards: the premise that the MDR SST is infallible and we have detected enough storms since 1900 to attribute the TC changes to these MDR SST fluctuations and AGW.
