Sorry, no etymologies found.
My own paper, of course, should be following Microsoft's example, and be utterly free of any mentions of alveolates and archaea, but what can I say?
We performed sensitive bioinformatic searches of genomes of parasitic protozoa in the crown group alveolates whose sequences are currently publicly available.
Since some Apicomlexans posses alveoli they are placed in a group named alveolates.
Other differences in the taxonomic recovery of tags included representatives from alveolates (Apicomplexa and Ciliophora), Ichthyosporea, Metazoa, parabasalids, rhodophytes, stramenopiles, Fungi and Viridiplantae.
