- noun A name in the Philippines of Fissistigma fulgens (Melodorum fulgens of Hooker and Thompson), a large woody climber or small tree of the custard-apple family, having tawny-orange colored flowers and pod-like fruit inclosing a number of cinnamon-colored, some what aromatic seeds, which are administered medicinally in the Philippines under the name of grains of paradise.
