What really seems to be the issue is that this might highlight a few statistical problems in the APRA charging shedule, not to mention APRA might just pull in less money (again, a point picked up by Nic, "[APRA's] main concern seemed to be that Murdoch and Google would be able to exploit musicians by using Creative Commons licensed music"). posted by elliott bledsoe tags: apra, ccau events, ccau music industry forum, royalties

I heard that the use for content in a gym in bondi went from 1500 dollars a year to 3 dollars per member. this increased the price to 35000, for that gym. with an increase in the price for the use of content to this much, it brings the publishers even closer to those outlets (i feel), making it even harder for self published content to be a part of community. apra maintain that if the artist contract changed conditions would be worse for artists, i disagree with this. the reality from my view is that a lot of small business would evolve. apra seems to be only looking out for the interests of the publishers and artist members that work in studio environments.
