  • A family of desmostichous or endocyclical echinoids, or regular sea-urchins, intermediate in its general characters between Cidaridœ and Echinidœ, and having median ambulacral spaces appearing as bare bands. The family is typified by the genus Arbacia; another genus is Cœlopleurus.
