I only compare Etruscan mi/ni with Japanese watashi/atashi to illustrate the tendency of spurious phonetic variation in pronouns, of course.

Also, the fact that Japanese pronouns are not a closed set anata, anatatachi, atashi, omae suggests that Japanese is not a good example.
