- A family of sauropodous dinosaurian reptiles with a pituitary canal, the ischia directed downward and meeting at the middle, a hollow sacrum, and the anterior and caudal vertebræ excavated by lateral cavities. It is a group of gigantic Jurassic herbivorous lizards. O. C. Marsh.
