- Noting an acid, a compound, formed by the decomposition of atranoric acid, to which Paterno gave the formula C9H10O4, but which Hesse has shown to be 1. 3, 5-trihydroxytoluene, C6H2(OH)3CH3. It crystallizes in needles which melt at 104° C. Called by Hesse physciol.
