I've tried to keep the really "heavy" ones (Theraphosa blondi), but that didn't work out for me; I've kept some of the really big, fast ones - I particularly enjoy pamphobeteus species - as well as some of the tamer ones (Lasiodora parahybana, L. difficilis, Acanthoscurria geniculata, Grammastola aureostriatum, that sort of thing).

The biggest known tarantula species till date is the Theraphosa blondi, that weighs about 120gms and having a leg span of about 12 inches.
