- n. A usually crystal collar on a candle socket used to catch drippings or to hold suspended pendants.

- n. A glass disk or shallow cup with a central perforation, made to surround the base of a candle or of a gas-light. In the latter ease the glass is ground to diffuse the light.
We may mention, to complete the inventory, a hammock suspended from two nails inserted in the wall, a three-legged garden chair, a candlestick adorned with its _bobeche_, and some other similar objects of elegant art.
You can add a bobeche, this is a disk made out of glass, plastic or ceramic with a hole in the center and sometimes crystal dangles.
