  • noun A genus of longicorn beetles, of the family Cerambycidæ, containing species of flattened form with spineless prothorax and elytra, usually thickened femora, and eyes not embracing the base of the antennæ. C. bajulus and C. antennatum are examples. Its larvæ infest firtrees, causing oval perforations where the mature insects make their escape.
