• noun A genus of epiphytic ferns sometimes joined with Ophioglossum, from which it differs externally in having several fertile spikes, and these pendent from a palmately divided (instead of simple) leaf. There is a single species, C. palmata, of Florida and tropical America. See Ophioglossum.
