Looking for linux hard drive diagnosticsWould love to find a program like "chkdsk" that would work with 7.3 or enterprise o/s.

But then, after having had run a chkdsk to find irreparable sectors, and finding that Windows went from 0 bytes of bad sectors to over 1 megabyte, I decided that was pretty much what I was forced to do just because of the hardware.

Everything seemed fine, after a reboot, a chkdsk ran, then Windows 7's 'bootup problem fixer' ran I'm sure that's not the name, but that's the gist, and now I have a ton of files on my drive that are zero length.
