  • noun In ornithology, a large genus of American parrots or parrakeets, of moderate and small size, chiefly green and yellow coloration, and having the cere feathered: so named from the cuneate form of the tail. The Carolina parrakeet, Conurus carolinensis, is a characteristic example.
  • noun In entomology, a genus of rove-beetles. Also called Conosoma.
