• noun A genus name under which Vieillot grouped a number of heterogeneous species of birds, including certain fruit-crows of South America with some campophagine forms of the old world. It has been applied by other authors to sundry species of Gymnoderinæ, Campephagidæ, etc. The type was Gymnoderus fætidus.
