It seems prudent that we keep an open mind to the possibility that for the same reason we cannot see higher-frequency cosmic rays with our unaided eyes, we cannot see higher-frequency angels/beings of Light, at least under normal circumstances.
Carbon-14 is special because it is continually being made by cosmic rays bombarding nitrogen atoms in the upper atmosphere.
