Is this day any more important than others when it comes to "cybershopping?"
Adding up to a 16 percent gain in sales over the same day last year, Monday's cybershopping spree was the heaviest online spending day in history, said ComScore, and the first to cross the billion-dollar mark.
Hudson's Bay Co., which owns the Bay and Zellers, expanded its cybershopping last spring and is planning to ramp it up under its new U.S. owner.
And while they're still heading to a store for a lot of their fashion purchases, they're complementing the trip with cybershopping, said Larry McKeown, senior research analyst at Statscan.
