- noun In Blyth's classification of birds (1849), a series or superfamily of his Strepitores heterodactyli, consisting of the podargues and moth-hunters, or Podargidœ and Caprimulgidœ, grouped together under the name Parvirostres, and of the swifts and humming-birds, Cypselidœ and Trochilidœ, grouped together under the name Tenuirostres.
