- noun The undermost plate in the calyx of the Crinoidea, usually obscured in the adult condition of stalked forms, but exposed in the stalkless genus Uintacrinus, and seen also in the larval stages of the recent Antedon: by some authors regarded as the topmost segment of the stalk. Also termed centrodorsal.
