  • It was a staple food of the Native Americans in what is now California. Very complex procedure to leach the acid out of them. I've never tried foods made with acorns, but when I was a kid I did try to eat one now and then. Didn't taste like much to me, but then maybe the acid burned away part of my brain...?

    ... Come to think of it, that would explain a lot.
