The first time I watched Ferris Bueller take his day off, I was at a drive-in movie theater in the deep summertime, a year or so out of high school and well into a hallucinogen-induced anxiety disorder, and I don’t remember anything else about it.
His real name was Doug Berry, however, because it said so on the credit card he’d used the first time he’d taken her out to dinner, which was the second time they’d met, now being the third time, at this drive-in movie south of North Dudson, one of the few such enterprises still extant in America.
