Now (a few hours later) it wont let me turn the computer back on. i press the on button and the fans start up and the dvdrom makes the usual start up noises but the laser mouse doesnt turn on and the computer doesnt register with the monitor and the computer just sits idle. any ideas guys?

Cd roms? dvd-Drives? if you have only 1 hard drive and one cdrom / dvdrom then you should have a 'C: \' and 'D: \' the way i removed the virtual drive was uninstalling the program i used to make the virtual drives. (which was alcohol 120\%) if you know what program you used then uninstall that program and try installing again.

Installed a sony DVDROM. i set the jumpers so the orignal cdrom is master and the added dvdrom is slave. i have the slave at the end of the ribbon. turn on pc and the dvdrom is not recognized. what am i doing wron? thank you kuzzz
