  • Is "early morning rain" a lyric skipvia?

    October 22, 2007

  • Yes, but you'd need to be old enough to remember the folk era of the early sixties to be affected by it. It was covered by just about every folk artist from Peter, Paul and Mary to Gordon Lightfoot to Ian and Sylvia to, incredibly, Bob Dylan. It was written by Lightfoot.

I *can't* get it out of my head now...

    October 22, 2007

  • Yes, I remember now. "In the early morning rain..."

    October 22, 2007

  • "With a dollar in my hand..."

That's the one. Thanks, palooka. It had finally left my head, but now it's back... :)

  • I think of the Gordon Lightfoot version the most--mainly because a college roommate used to play it ad nauseum. ;-)

  • Aauuggghhhh!! I woke up this morning with a clear head and now it's back again. Let's kill this thread.

  • You're right skipvia. Maybe I should have listed a different phrase like leaving on a jet plane.

    October 22, 2007

  • Double aauuggghhhh!!

Oh, and skipvia? I nabbed your "earworm alert" for a tag (as you can see). :-)
