  • noun In physical, the correction to be applied in the determination of the thermal, electrical, or magnetic conductivity of a rod or of the magnetic flux within a coil or of the capacity of a cylindrical condenser, on account of the effect of the ends of the rod or cylinder upon the quantity to be computed.
