  • A subfamily of the parasitic hymenopterous family Chalcididæ, founded by Leach (1812), including the strongest and handsomest forms among Hymenoptera, having five-jointed tarsi, no stigmal vein, a wonderful development of the mesothorax, and an extension of the second abdominal segment which incloses all subsequent segments. Also Eucharida.
