  • noun A genus of low herbaceous or suffrutescent plants, of the natural order Convolvulaceæ, including about 60 species, natives of warm countries, and chiefly American. They have small funnel-shaped flowers and do not twine. There are half a dozen species in the southern portions of the United States.
