• noun In a chart, a barb attached to an arrow to indicate the force of the wind which blows in the direction of the arrow. Ordinarily six flèches are used to represent six different grades of wind from calm to hurricane; but in British charts sometimes twelve are used.
• noun One of the points on a backgammon-board.
