Both the view put forward by Armstrong 1989 and the primary view discussed (but not endorsed) by Rosen 1990 seem to have been fictionalisms of the ˜strong™ kind (see Nolan 1997a, p. 263).
Given the variety of fictionalisms it is hard to provide a succinct survey of the arguments for and against fictionalism simpliciter.
