  • While Jordan did not note why he believed the yellowfin cutthroat was established in France, in 1902 Siegfried Jaffe, who operated a hatchery at Sandfort, Germany, recounted in an article in a French fish-culturist journal that he had received 10,000 eggs of yellowfin cutthroat trout (truite à nageoires jaunes) from the Grand Mesa in May 1899 and an additional 20,000 eggs in July 1902 (eggs shipped from the Leadville hatchery).
