In this respect it has something in common with the form-board test, the Ebbinghaus test, and the test with dissected sentences (XII, 4).
The test may be regarded as a variation of the form-board test.
Another approach is to begin by showing the child some interesting object, such as a toy, or a form-board, or pictures not used in the test.
