  • The real titles of these medical practitioners by appointment are much more grandisonant: the royal eye doctor, for example, is the "Surgeon Oculist," and the gentleman entrusted with the care of the royal reproductive organs is (with a nice mixture of the ancient and the modern) the "Surgeon Gynaecologist."
