In just one week, it motivated a quarter-million Americans do exactly what it was meant to do: walk their fat asses into an auto dealership, get rid of their guzzly old vehicle, and purchase something new and more energy efficient, three things they’ve been shying away from doing in record numbers this year (auto sales are down 40% so far, which is, um, a lot).
